Johnston County Public Schools has adopted a new district-wide policy (JCPS 4318) regarding the use of personal cell phones and electronic/media devices. Beginning with the 2025–26 school year, students are expected to follow a “No Cell, Bell to Bell” rule.

Under this policy:

  • 🚫 Cell phones and electronic/media devices may not be used during instructional time or hallway transitions.

  • 🍴 Cell phone use will only be permitted during lunch.

This new expectation is designed to reduce distractions, promote safety in hallways, and keep the focus on teaching and learning. Corinth Holders High School is committed to helping students and families adjust successfully to this change.

To support students in building healthy habits with technology, the district encourages practices such as:

  • Setting screen time limits

  • Creating phone-free hours

  • Turning off notifications

  • Deleting non-essential apps

  • Using time intentionally with friends, family, and hobbies

While the transition may be challenging at first, school leaders believe it will ultimately create a stronger, more focused learning environment.

“We know this is a big change for students and families, but it is a positive step toward improving focus, safety, and engagement in our classrooms,” said Principal Hurst. “We’ll be working with our students to help them build balance with their devices and find success under this new policy.”

As we begin the new school year, Corinth Holders High School remains committed to staying focused, engaged, and Anchored Together. ⚓💜💛
