Connect Ed Message from DRES 11/18/2020
Hello, this is Mrs. Creed with several important announcements from Dixon Road Elementary. First, progress reports were made available yesterday through the Power School Parent Portal. In order to locate your child's progress report once logged into the portal, select "Student Reports" on the left side of the screen, then select "JCPS Elementary English". The progress report will then populate for you to see and the portal will give you the option to print if you'd like.
Next, if you need to pick up your child on any given day, please do so by 3:10. Also, the school needs to be notified of any transportation changes for students by 3:10 each day. We truly appreciate your help with these two issues!
For those of you who use our afternoon carpool line, please do not use the fire lane as a passing lane. There should be a gap between the first few cars pulled up at the front of the school and those who stop where the two lanes merge into one. This is in case of an emergency when emergency vehicles may be called.
A picture make-up day has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 16th. All virtual students who need to have their picture made should report to the back of the school through the bus parking lot between 10:00 and 11:00 that day. Face to face students will be called by grade levels to have their picture taken. Please go to our school homepage and look under "Announcements" to see instructions on how to order in advance.
Don't forget that all lost and found items that are not claimed by Tuesday, November 24th will be donated to a local charity to make room for the lost and found items that are being turned in daily.
Lastly, next Monday and Tuesday, November 23rd & 24th, have been designated as remote learning days by the school board. These days are not optional for students. Students are required to participate in virtual learning on both days. Students who do not participate will be counted as absent from school and will be required to make-up any assigned work. Parents of students who do not participate in learning those two days will need to send in a note for the student's absence. Please contact your child's teacher or the front office if you have questions.
Thank you for your continued support of our school during this very challenging time. Have a good evening.
