FBLA Members Place in the top at the National Leadership Conference 2019
On June 29th, 10 West Johnston FBLA members traveled to San Antonio, Texas to compete in National competition. While in Texas the students competed, attended workshops, rode Roller Coasters at Six Flags, and got to see the Alamo. The Students all put in countless hours of study time and work to make it to National Competition.
While in Texas, West Johnston FBLA had 3 National winners. Sarah Ford, who is soon to be a Senior, placed 4th in the Nation for Spreadsheet Applications by taking a multiple choice test and a performance Excel test. This is the 5th year that West Johnston has placed in this competition and 4th is the highest we have ever placed. Oscar Liu, who is soon to be a Junior, placed 8th in the nation for Business Calculations by taking a very intense higher level Business Math test. Angel Rodriguez, who is soon to be a Junior, placed in the top 14 in the FBLA Client Service competition. She participated in a performance based competition where she made it to the second round and second day of competition. This is the first time that West Johnston has had a performance based competitor make it to the second round at Nationals.
West Johnston High School and the FBLA advisers, Amanda Fisher and Frances Clark, are so proud of all of our members and our National Winners. We intend to keep pushing towards Nationals with FBLA every year and keep the legacy going.
