West Johnston Names Eric Honeycutt Its Leading with the Heart Recipient
Mr. Eric Honeycutt is West Johnston High School's 2019 Leading with the Heart recipient. An original Wildcat, Mr. Honeycutt has taught Agriculture Education for 33 years, going above and beyond classroom instruction to provide an education for students interested in the agriculture field. In addition to classroom instruction, Mr. Honeycutt has spent countless hours working with students in FFA to train for competitive events at the regional, state, and national levels. He provides hands-on instruction, both in the classroom and within the FFA organization to his students, and he often brings his own farm animals to school in order to provide more hands-on opportunities for students to link classroom and real-world experiences. Mr. Honeycutt is not only an exemplary educator, he is also a supportive colleague, willing to help his coworkers in any capacity. Mr. Honeycutt assists teachers and administrators with various projects that impact the school as a whole. Honeycutt's colleagues say that they never hear him say "no" to anyone who needs his help at school. Mr. Honeycutt is the perfect example of an educator who leads with the heart!
