College Fair is an Impressive Success

On the morning of Monday, October 29, 2018, 50 college admissions representatives arranged information booths in Smithfield-Selma High School's (SSS) cafeteria for a college fair.  The colleges that attended are members of the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO).  This group of admissions representatives are dedicated to the promotion of higher education.

About 300 SSS seniors, juniors, and sophomores attended the College Fair, giving the students the opportunity to speak with admissions representatives and to learn about the different colleges in the Carolinas.

SSS Guidance Counselor, Yvette Compton, explained, "These college fairs are important to our students so that they can learn about the diverse opportunities that are available to them after they graduate high school.  Some students may have difficulty getting transportation to visit a campus on the other side of the state, so this event is special to them."

SSS plans to continue these College Fairs that are critically important to helping students in their future professional pathways.
