On March 25, 2021, the Smithfield Middle School, M.L. Wilson Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society welcomed seventeen new eighth grade and twenty five new seventh grade inductees in a virtual induction ceremony. This brings its total membership to ninety nine students. Membership in the National Junior Honor Society demonstrates a dedication to scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. The induction ceremony was conducted by seven current Smithfield Middle NJHS members. Ms. LaShunda Faison, Principal, congratulated the new and current members for their dedication to the ideals of the National Junior Honor Society. She also recognized the parents and others for their continued support of these students and their goals. In addition, she challenged the student body in attendance to aspire to being the ones inducted next year. The virtual NJHS Induction ceremony is now posted on the Smithfield Middle School website for those who would like to view it. Congratulations to one and all for your outstanding dedication to scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
