Students of the Month Recognized for Good Character

Selma Elementary was proud to kick off their 2018 - 2019 Character Education program last week by honoring students who have been recognized for best displaying the character trait of the month. Each month, students are nominated by their homeroom teachers for exhibiting that month's character trait. Students have their picture placed on a bulletin board at school, along with their nomination, for the duration of the month. At the end of the month, the nominated students are invited to a special celebration to congratulate them on their nomination. Each celebration will have a different theme and all nominees also receive a certificate.

SES proudly celebrated students nominated in September, when the character trait was - respect. To congratulate the students, school counselor Latrieva Wilson, invited all nominated students to attend a pizza party in their honor on Friday, September 28. Students also had the chance to play games, listen to music, and chat with some of their friends. After the celebration, Ms. Wilson boasted, "We are so proud of these students and thank them for being a wonderful representation of respectful students at our school!"
