Perseverance and Heart recognized at Octobor BOE Meeting
The Johnston County Board of Education recognized outstanding staff members and students who demonstrated excellence in the classroom or in the community at their Oct. 9 meeting.
The Johnston County Board of Education recognized students who demonstrated perseverance during the month of October at this month’s board meeting. Those who were recognized on the front row (from left) are Pine Level Elementary student Will McClung and Micro Elementary student Tyler Thompson. Those who were recognized on the back row (from left) are Meadow School student Alejandro Gomez and McGee’s Middle School student Sheryl Bryant.
Johnston County Public Schools has a history of participating in and giving back to their communities through the American Heart Association. River Dell Elementary School was the top elementary school fundraiser last year, and Four Oaks Middle School was the top middle school fundraiser. Selma Elementary was the school with the highest participation. The Johnston County Board of Education recognized Glendale-Kenly Elementary School teacher Kim MacArthur (right) as the October Certified Employee of the Month and School Nutrition Assistant Betsy Hill (left) as the October Classified Employee of the Month.
