JCPS to Utilize New Website for Bus Updates

Our district is launching a new portion of our website to further communicate bus delays and replacements with our families. 

We encourage those who have a student who utilizes our transportation to get to or from school to visit for updates on our school bus routes beginning Tuesday, January 18.

Like school districts and businesses around the country, we are feeling staffing impacts due to COVID-19. One place that is no exception to that is with our transportation team. We have routes on a daily basis that have been impacted due to the challenging staffing climate. 

Beginning Tuesday morning, we’re asking our families to utilize this website as another tool to get up to date information on your student’s route. The website will be updated by our transportation staff as soon as we become aware of changes, providing our families with real-time information on their student’s bus. While the site will be continuously updated, we encourage our families to check the website in the evening, and again in the morning so that you may be best prepared for your day.

Our school district has one of the largest riderships in the state and thankfully, unlike many districts, we have been able to cover the transportation needs of our students, albeit sometimes on an amended schedule. Please know that our leaders and transportation team are doing everything in their power to cover routes and to provide transportation everyday to the students who they are assigned, to include having maintenance staff, office staff, and certified employees drive.  

We cannot thank our bus drivers and transportation team enough for their hard work, as well as all of those who have pitched in to keep our buses moving throughout this process. We also want to thank our families for their grace and understanding as we continue to navigate the impacts of this pandemic.
