JC Board of Education approves 2022 JCPS salary schedule

The Johnston County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the 2022 Johnston County Public Schools salary schedule at their regularly scheduled Dec. 14 meeting.

The 2022 salary schedule includes an average 4.9% salary increase for all JCPS teachers. Including step increases, the approved salary schedule contains a minimum of a 2.5% increase for all JCPS employees.

This adjusted salary schedule goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022. While these schedules are effective Jan. 1, 2022, permanent staff (full-time and part-time) employed by JCPS as of Dec. 1, 2021 are eligible for a retroactive salary bonus.

Also going into effect on Jan. 1 is a minimum hourly pay of $13/hour, with that minimum increasing to $15/hour on July 1.

JCPS staff members can also expect to see additional bonuses over the course of the next seven months. The bonuses for classified staff could be up to $4,000, while bonuses for certified staff could be up to $5,300. These figures include the recently approved retention bonus given to JCPS employees.

JCPS staff can expect more detailed information on the salary schedule as well as information on the bonuses referenced above.
