Johnston Community Board of Trustee Vacancy
(Selection through Johnston County Board of Education)

Deadline to apply is May 31, 2019

The Johnston County Board of Education is now accepting applications for the following appointment:

Johnston Community College Board of Trustee
1 position; 4 year term; effective July 1, 2019

INFORMATION: Johnston Community College operates under the control of a 13-member local Board of Trustees. Each member serves a four-year term with four members selected by the Johnston County Board of Education; four members chosen by the Johnston County Board of Commissioners, and four members appointed by the governor of North Carolina. The Board of Trustees sets all local policy, and the board appoints the College president. In addition, the Board of Trustees has authority to disperse funds as delegated by the State Board of Community Colleges. The board meets every other month in public and executive sessions.

GUIDELINES: JCC Board of Trustee Applicants must be residents of Johnston County. Applicants cannot be a person who has been employed by Johnston Community College within recent five years. Applicants cannot have a spouse or child of a person currently employed fulltime by Johnston Community College. (GS §115D-12)

TO APPLY: Beginning May 1, 2019, until the deadline of May 31, 2019, Johnston County citizens wishing to be considered for this vacancy may contact Michelle Weckesser, Board Assistant for the Johnston County Board of Education. Applicants may contact Mrs. Weckesser by email at michelleweckesser@johnston.k12.nc.us.
