Remote Learning

Good Evening Raven’s Families! This is Sharon Bryant, Principal of Riverwood Middle with a few important announcements.

As you may be aware, the Johnston County Board of Education voted to temporarily return to remote learning beginning Monday, December 14th-January 19th, to help minimize the spread of COVID within our buildings due to the number of staff and students on quarantine on the rise. Buildings will continue to be deeply sanitized in preparation for our return. We have shared our schedule for next week with our students and have added this information to the school website and social media sites for you to review.

December 18th ends the first quarter and begins our winter holiday break. We are asking that all missing assignments be submitted by Tuesday, December 15th.

December 14th -December 16th a member of our staff will be contacting parents of students who opted face to face for the second semester and were previously virtual to inform you of your child’s cohort information. If your child is currently attending face to face and you choose for them to continue face to face you will not receive a call. Your child will continue on the same cohort second semester as they are currently attending.

Please be reminded that if your child needs a school device or hotspot, please complete the device request form located on our school website or contact your child’s homeroom teacher for assistance. We have issued 790 devices and have enough if your child needs a school device or hotspot.

We will continue to keep you updated over the break about student’s second-semester schedules, athletics, other pertinent information your and your child may need to jumpstart the second semester.

Thank you for your support as we serve our students, staff, and community.
