Plan B October 19 Opening

Greetings, Riverwood Middle Families!

This is Sharon Bryant, Principal of Riverwood Middle, with important information for our Ravens!

Monday, October 19th is the start of Plan B in which students will participate in face to face and/or online learning. Staff members contacted families last week to let them know of the assigned cohort for their child. If you do not know your child’s assigned cohort for learning, please contact the front office and someone can assist you. Please be reminded that we will use our PowerSchool schedule and all students who will be engaging through online learning should login to their first block google meet by 8:00 am.

For those attending school face-to-face, please note that students will not be able to enter the building until 7:35 each day. The tardy bell will ring at 8:05 each day. We will dismiss students at 3:05 each afternoon. Please note that we do have new arrival and dismissal times that reflect district middle school times. Car riders should remain in their car in the carpool line upon arrival until a staff member approaches the car, takes the child’s temperature and asks three health questions before exiting the vehicle. Please refer to our online video and presentation for walkers building entry locations. After the tardy bell rings at 8:05 all walkers must walk to the front of the building. For students riding the bus, bus information for those attending Cohort 1, was shared by the drivers this weekend. If you did not receive a call from a driver, please plan to bring your child to school and pick them up until they have been placed on a bus. Calls for Cohort 2 will be made this week prior to Thursday. Please be patient when waiting for the bus as this will be the first mass departure of school buses for the year.

If your student has been issued a school chromebook, they will need to bring it to school with them on their assigned cohort day beginning October 26. Students will only be able to use school issued devices while on campus. We do plan to assign chromebooks to students that do not have a school issued device when they report to face to face learning. In addition, we are asking all students to bring a clear water bottle or a bottle of water for their use throughout the day.

As always, please visit our school or contact the front office if you have any questions or concerns. We are more than willing to assist in any way possible. We look forward to beginning Plan B at Riverwood Middle!
