Carpool has been running so smoothly in the mornings.  We want to remind parents that you should not drop off students at the top of the bus driveway to walk down to school.  You can walk from your home or take them through carpool line.  We appreciate your cooperation with this as we try to keep everyone safe.
We want to thank everyone who attended Heritage Day on Saturday.  We had an amazing turn out, and we can't wait to do it again next year.  Thank you to all of our families that shared their family cultures and traditions with us, and a big thank you to our PTA as well as Mrs. Headley Allen who organized and planned so much of this terrific event for us all to enjoy.
Tomorrow night, Tuesday, is RDE Spirit Night at McDonald's near Harris Teeter.  The times are 5:00-8:00.  A portion of all sales will come back to our school.  Take the night off from cooking and grab some McDonald's.  You can dine in or go through the drive-through.
We are collecting pop tabs from the tops of drink cans to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  Thank you to all who have brought some in.  There is a contest amongst all Johnston County Schools and we would love to be near the top to support a great cause.  You can drop these off in the bin right next to the sticker machine in the front hallway.
A reminder that Wednesday is the RDE Student Art Show in our cafeteria from 3:45-7:30.  Please come by and see the great artwork that our students have done, and you can even purchase your child's work too! If you can't make it but still would like to purchase your child's artwork, you can visit the following website: https://artomeplus.com/riverdellelementary27527.
On Thursday, our 5th graders will be visiting Archer Lodge Middle School.  We know that they will enjoy the visit and make us proud while they are there.
Due to an 80-85% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Thursday, we have decided to postpone the field day for PreK through 2nd grade until after Spring Break.  Those students will still have a fun afternoon activity planned in their classroom that day.  Third, fourth, and fifth grades will still have their field day on Friday afternoon.
Lastly, JCPS Spring Break begins this Saturday.  We hope everyone has a wonderful break.  Students return to school on Tuesday, April 19th.
Let's make these last 4 days before our break great ones!
