We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
Our district is also now operating under a new online payment system for school meals, which is called “Titan.” This system can be utilized to post payments on your students breakfast and lunch account. Please note that families who had a remaining balance on the system we utilized last school year had their balances transferred to our new system. If you haven’t yet established an account for your student, you can do so and find a helpful FAQ by visiting our website at www.johnston.k12.nc.us/meals. The FAQ contains step by step instructions on setting up your student’s account.
Additionally, this is a reminder that we have returned to paid meals for this school year. Families must complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application to receive the benefit of free meals. This year, the state will cover the cost of students who receive reduced meals, so that they will receive a meal at no cost. We encourage all families to complete this application, as completing the application helps your student’s school in a multitude of ways.
