It is our district’s goal to make our school communities as prepared as possible for emergency situations, including inclement weather.
While we are aware there are many eyes on the potential winter weather this weekend, we wanted to share an improved form of communication our district leadership has been working on for several weeks.
In the event of inclement weather, be it winter weather or a hurricane, our district will now operate under different Inclement Weather Conditions. Our hope is that this will streamline communication and better prepare our school communities.
In the event of inclement weather, an announcement will reach our stakeholders via ConnectEd, the district website, our social media platforms, and local television and radio stations. We will continue to provide details of any closures or cancellations, but will begin using the language of Condition 1, 2, or 3 immediately.
We understand that it is a new practice, and may take getting used to, but we hope this alleviates questions and allows our students, staff, and families to be better prepared for inclement weather.
