Announcements 5-17-22

Graduates, the baccalaureate service is this Sunday, May 22nd, at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church. The service starts at 6:30, but you need to be there by 6:00 if you would like to participate. Wear your cap and gown, and enjoy being recognized at this special service. See Mrs. Brown if you have any questions.

The NJHS Chorus presents “A Night at the Beach,” featuring music from Moana and Teen Beach Movie, on Monday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm.  We will begin with a Senior Preshow at 6:30 pm.  Everyone is invited.  Admission is Free. 

Any female athletes interested in trying out for the Lady Panther basketball team next year, and does not have a summer workout schedule yet, should see Coach Poole in the PE office to pick up a schedule and requirements to participate.

Anyone interested in Cheerleading, please sign up Wednesday 5/18 during remediation in the new gym with Coach Argott.

Any young man or woman that is interested in playing tennis next year, please stop by Coach Anderson’s office to get a summer workout calendar.

ALL PANTHERS: The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is offering a Teen Summer program entitled “Oceans of Possibility”. There are several sessions across the summer: crafts, anime, cosplay, and trivia, for example. You may attend one, or two, or all! Please come by Mrs. Kiser’s room to pick up a brochure from the folder outside her door for more information. 

The Athletic Awards will be May 20, 2022 in the new gym at 6:00 pm.  There is no cost.  Please dress to impress and come celebrate a year in NJHS sports!  

All students will use school-issued chrome books checked out to them during exams If you do not have a school-issued chrome book checked out to you, one will be provided for you during exams.

If you are having issues with your school-issued chrome book please see Mr. Syverson or Mrs. Howell in the Media Center before exam day.

Students will need to return all Chromebooks after the last exam is completed. Do not forget to bring your charger on that day.

Seniors, the yearbook staff sent an email requesting a kindergarten picture from you, or a picture from around that age, for a special page in this year’s yearbook. Pictures were due yesterday, but we are extending the deadline to Friday, the 20th.  If you have any questions, see Ms. Fry or a yearbook staff member.
