Congratulations to the Boys Golf team finishing 11th in the state at the finals in Pinehurst. Jacob Green led the Panthers with a 2 day total of 166 placing him tied for 25th in the state. The team narrowly missed a top 10 finish. It was a great season, congrats also to Tanner Gardner, Tyler Willard, Jesse Richardson, Josh Bare, Gavin Fiamingo, and Jay Fortson.
The Lady Panthers softball team concluded their season last night in the first round of the state playoffs. We are so proud of these young ladies and the fight they exhibited all season. The Lady Panthers led 4-3 in the sixth inning at Nash Central last night before falling 9-4. Thank you to Alicia Gachuz, Emily Scott, Emily Wall, Jayda Clay, Jessie Gross, Jordyn Pilkington, Joy Yarber, Kayleigh Hughart, Logan Hodge, Mercaides Pilkington and Victoria Sasser for representing North Johnston and our softball program this season.
ALL PANTHERS: The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is offering a Teen Summer program entitled “Oceans of Possibility”. There are several sessions across the summer: crafts, anime, cosplay, and trivia, for example. You may attend one, or two, or all! Please come by Mrs. Kiser’s room to pick up a brochure from the folder outside her door for more information.
ATTENTION ALL FFA MEMBERS:
The sign up sheets for the NJHS FFA Banquet on May 18th are hanging on the bulletin board outside the AG office. You must sign up for the banquet by this Friday, May 13, 2022. Please see an Ag teacher if you have any questions!
The HOSA Blood Drive is TODAY from 8am until 1pm. If you signed up to donate, please come to the gym at your scheduled time.
Spring football workouts will be through May 13 from 2:45 until 4:00 each day. If you have any questions, please see Coach Allard. Make sure FinalForms is updated and complete.
The Athletic Awards will be May 20, 2022 in the new gym at 6:00 pm. There is no cost. Please dress to impress and come celebrate a year in NJHS sports!
Students, the exam scheduled is posted on the school website along with the form needed to be completed to leave early. The exam schedule along with the form has also been sent to your school email.
Seniors, the Senior Luau will be held on Saturday, May 14th, in the new gym from 7 until 11. If you are planning to attend, bring $15.00 for your ticket to Ms. Fry in room 306 this morning. If enough students do not pay, the luau may have to be canceled. Please see Ms. Fry if you have any questions.
Students! Do you need to recover a class to receive credit? Sign up for Summer School today. Summer School will be held Monday-thursday beginning June 14 and going through June 30. The application for summer school is on our school website. See Coach Anderson or a counselor for more information.
Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team on their 2-1 victory over James Kenan last night. Gabe Adams led the way on the mound with 9 strikeouts. At the plate, the Panthers were solid as they were led by Gavin Syverson, Hayden Ballance, and Carter Aycock. With the win, the Panthers advance to the second round of the state playoffs as they will host Pasquotank on Friday night. Again great job to these young men.
