Mr. Avery's Connect Ed Message 12-15-2020

Good evening Panther Families

This is a message from NJHS

Today we were notified by the Johnston County Public Health Department of a positive case of COVID-19 in one of the classrooms.  The classroom and the entire school building have been deep cleaned and disinfected. Common areas such as bathrooms have also been cleaned and disinfected.

Please know the individual who tested positive will self-isolate in their place of residence until they are fever and symptom free and at least 10 days have passed since the first symptoms appeared.

The Johnston County Public Health Department will lead the contact investigation. Individuals identified as close contacts will be contacted by the public health department. If an individual is not contacted by the public health department, the individual was not considered to be a close contact.

Remember the CDC defines close contact as anyone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before the person began feeling sick until the time the patient was isolated.

While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, continue to watch for symptoms of COVID-19 and communicate with your doctor and/or visit NC Department of Health and Human Services website.

We will continue to closely monitor this situation and will provide additional information as needed. If you have questions, please contact our school office at 919-284-2031.

Thank you for your support as we work to keep everyone safe.

Have a good evening.
