CCP Students: IMPORTANT INFO

CCP Advising and Registration has been extended through Monday, May 18, 2020, until 12 noon. 

 

This email is your Roadmap to register for college classes.  Follow this roadmap, and you will be successful in completing CCP Summer/Fall 2020 Advising and Registration.  

 

 

 

  1. 1CCPTextbook Return - We have not scheduled a Textbook Return date.  However, when the date is scheduled, seniors will be given priority by being the first to return textbooks. 

 

  • Summer Classes - The state pays for your tuition.  However, students are responsible for any additional costs including textbooks, online books, access codes, and fees for the summer session.  If you have questions about the costs of textbooks and/or access codes, click on the link below to the JCC Bookstore for more information.

  1. JCC Welcome Email - If you are a New CCP student, and you do not have the JCC Welcome email, contact your JCPS CCP School Representative. When you receive the welcome email, follow the instructions below in this video.  https://www.johnstoncc.edu/nso/ccp.html  

  If you are new and we do not have your completed CCP Application packet, you will be unable to register for classes at this time. 

 

  1. Before your Appointment
  • Admittance into the program is required
  • Pathway changes must be completed with the student's CCP representative
  • Review pathway (Transfer or CTE) for required courses and build a desired schedule by searching for classes
  • Check JCC student email daily for scheduling instructions from an advisor; WAIT FOR THIS EMAIL then schedule an appointment according to the assigned advisor's instructions
    • Students enrolled in two pathways will receive communication from an advisor for each program
    • Appointments scheduled under an advisor other than the student's assigned advisor will be cancelled

If you have not received an email or phone call from a JCC advisor, send a request for an advisor to ccp@mail.johnstoncc.edu, and include your full name, pathway, and JCC ID#.

 

 

  1. Registration for classes on high school campuses ONLY

- Students who wish ONLY to take JCC classes offered at their high school do not need to meet with their assigned advisor

  • Student's should reply to the advisor's email to inform them that they will be taking classes only on their high school campus
  • To pre-register for JCC classes on a high school campus, email ccp@mail.johnstoncc.edu

 

  1. 5During your appointment 
  • Parents/Guardians/School Officials may not serve as substitutes for the student
  • Students will be advised on their current pathway and will not be allowed to change pathways
  • Session will be held in a virtual format (i.e. phone, video) agreed upon by the advisor and student
  • Course requests will be made – indicate alternates if possible/applicable
    • Student will be pre-registered for course(s)
    • Registrations will be processed for Summer 2020 starting 4/20 and for Fall 2020 starting 6/1 in order of receipt and pending availability of courses

 

  1. 6.After the Appointment
  • Students will receive an email containing confirmation of their advising appointment to review and retain for their records
  • To pre-register for JCC classes on a high school campus, email ccp@mail.johnstoncc.edu
  • Registrations will be processed for Summer 2020 starting 4/20 and for Fall 2020 starting 6/1 in order of receipt and pending availability of courses
    • Confirm student schedule at that time via WebAdvisor  (Login > Students > My class schedule)

 

  1. 7. Communication - Check your JCC and JCPS email Daily
