ECA Students Win Cynthia DeFord Adams Literary Competition

ECA students were recognized on March 29, 2023 for their outstanding poetry and prose writing in the 2023 Cynthia DeFord Adams Literary Competition.

The Cynthia DeFord Adams Literary Competition is an annual writing competition open to all registered JCC students. Students submit original pieces in the categories of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Cash prizes are awarded to winning submissions.

In the fiction category, junior Kylie Brooks won first place and freshman Jack Chambers won second place.

In the nonfiction category, sophomore Katie Lower won first place and sophomore Autumn Bell won third place, with Jack Chambers receiving honorable mention.

In the poetry category, Kylie Brooks won first and second place, with Jack Chambers receiving honorable mention.

A reception was held by the Tart fountain, where students read their writing as well as received their awards. Congratulations to these exceptional students!
