Meet Coach Jenkins, New Men's Pirate Basketball Coach

James Jenkins, teacher and coach at Corinth Holders High School has been named the new men's basketball head coach. Originally from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Coach Jenkins attended NC Wesleyan College. He played basketball all four years and was named a starter from his Sophomore year on. Coach Jenkins has a personal philosophy that the game and life are interconnected. "I got into coaching to impact lives on a daily basis," says Jenkins. Two coaches that impacted him are his high school coach, Roy Lee, and college coach, John Thompson. They both encouraged him to get better everyday, regardless of what the circumstances were.

Coach Jenkins says that practice is where all the work gets done. His favorite advice for athletes is, "Don't practice to get it right, practice so you can't get it wrong." This, he believes, is where success starts. Jenkins has high expectations for his players and team. "I want our players to represent themselves, their family, the community, and school to the best of their ability." All of the Corinth Holders Pirate Nation is looking forward to this season!
