General Announcements:

Yearbooks are now on sale. See the information on the posters in the hallways, in your teachers´ Google classrooms and/or on Remind. Postcards will go home later this month. They are $30 each & the last day to order is April 15th. See Ms. Meese with questions

Valentine's Day is coming up!! Be sure to purchase a Valentine Gram from SGA during lunch beginning Friday, Feb. 7 and ending Feb. 13. The cost of each Valentine Gram is $1.00. Each one will include your note and a treat.You must know the homeroom teacher of the student for whom you are purchasing the Valentine Gram. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.

February is Black History Month, and the the media center has a challenge for you. Complete the Black History Month Online Scavenger Hunt to receive a bookmark. Your name will also be entered into a drawing to win a Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate! The due date is February 20th. See Mrs. Wamble for details.

Jr. Beta Club will be collecting the following items beginning February 11 and ending March 4th: hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks,, earmuffs. These can be new or used but must be clean. All used items must be washed. Items can range from baby items to adult. Let's help keep people warm in our community. Students should give all items to their homeroom teachers. Jr. Beta Club members will periodically go around to all homeroom teachers to gather items and bring them to Mrs. Gardiner's room. Teachers , please get your students enthusiastic to bring in items. A donut party will go to the homeroom with the most items. The Junior Beta Club members collecting the items will keep track of the number of items brought in for each homeroom. This collection will end on March 10.

Ms. Bottomley would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped with all county chorus auditions yesterday. We had almost 200 students at our school from across the county! Thank you to our Avid and chorus students, Ms. Prescott who helped us score auditions, our custodians, all of the teachers who let us use their classrooms, and Mrs. Ricapito and Ms. Barone for waiting with students for their rides!

Student faculty basketball game is Wednesday night at 6 o’clock. Admission is five dollars and booster passes are not accepted for this game. Come out to see your favorite teachers play against your Rams basketball teams!

Book Fair is approaching fast, and Mrs. Wamble needs parents volunteers. The sign-up link is located on the website.

Our 3rd Quarter Valentine's Day Dance is this Friday! 6th will pick up in the back and 7th/8th will pick up in the front at 5:45! You must be ISS and OSS free in third quarter to attend! Admission is $5 and there are concessions!

SGA is sponsoring a photo booth in the cafeteria during lunch on Friday to benefit the American Heart Association. For just $1 per person, you can take Valentine selfies with your friends using the props and the booth.

Club Announcements:

SGA is collecting money for American Heart Association with Valentine Grams. 

Saturday four students from our Math Counts team (Eli Coates, Angelina Kwiatkowski, Ryan Miller and Gabriella Ramos) competed at Triangle Math and Science Academy in Cary in the Triangle Chapter Competition. They worked hard and all did a fantastic job representing our school academically.

SGA and Homeroom Representatives need to meet in Room 603 during AP Wednesday

ALL FFA members will meet in the cafeteria during AP on Wednesday February 12th. Only those members who received an email from Ms. Kronenwetter should attend.

Jr Beta Club is collecting Winter Items for needy families

Battle of the Books team members, please go through the ALC room to get to Mrs. Wamble's office for AP today. Do not go into the media center as there is testing taking place. Thanks.

CvMS Arts Announcements:

Congratulations to the JV Winterguard for placing 1st in their class and the Varsity Winterguard for placing 3rd in their class at their competition at Apex Friendship High School on Saturday.

Winterguard practice will be in the gym Monday and Wednesday after school.

Students going on the West Johnston field trip Thursday, please report to Ms. Bottomley's room at 8:50. Check in with your homeroom teacher before going to her room.

Athletics:

Both Men and Ladies Basketball took home wins Monday night at McGees. Student faculty basketball game is Wednesday night at 6 o’clock. Admission is five dollars and booster passes are not accepted for this game. Come out to see your favorite teachers play against your Rams basketball teams!

Spring Sports Tryouts Begin Monday

Those interested in Girls Soccer should see Mr. Towle or attend an interest meeting on Tuesday in the Cafeteria during AP.

Those interested in Softball or Baseball should see Ms. Dudley or Mr. Scott for more info. Forms are available in the office to sign up to tryout.

Attention all boys and girls interested in trying out for track. All necessary information is posted on the Cleveland Middle School Boys and Girls Track websites. You must have a current sports physical filled out by a doctor and a concussion form filled out by a parent to tryout. Also, all students that wish to tryout must sign up on the website by filling out the Google Form that is posted. Please see or email Mr. Orilio if you have any questions.
