Announcements the Week of 1/21/20

General Announcements:

Students, please help the SGA and RAMbassadors in their partnership with USO by bringing in items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, hand sanitizer, etc. for our troops that were recently deployed. Your homeroom teachers should have a list of items they can share with you. Items will be tallied by house and points will be given. The drive will run through January 24.

Theatre Arts students going on the field trip Friday need to report to Ms. Bottomley's room at 8:45 on Friday.

Yearbook Ordering Information will be mailed home in early February. Please be on the lookout for a postcard in your mailbox.

Spelling Bee winners need to report to the cafeteria during AP on Friday for the school spelling bee. Any ELA classes bringing their class to the Bee need to report to the cafeteria at the beginning of 1st block.

Club Announcements:

Yesterday the MATHCOUNTS team went to the county competition and did an outstanding job. There were 10 students representing our school they were Angelina Kwiatkowaki, Ryan Miller, Eli Coates, Gabrielle Ramos, Emiliano Lopez, Seth Pennica, Kayla Eason, Emma Hinton, Jack Matthews, and Owen Mcdonough.They worked hard during some challenging events ending with four of our students in the top 20. Those students were Angelina Kwiatkowski, Eli Coates, Emiliano Lopez, and Kayla Eason. Also congratulations to team A=51 for placing third in the county and moving on in the competition. That team is made up of Angelina Kwiatkowski, Eli Coates, Gabrielle Ramos, and Ryan Miller. Congrats to all 10 competitors on a job well done.

There will be a Junior Beta Club Meeting in the cafeteria during AP Wednesday.

CvMS Arts Program Announcements:

Winterguard practice will be held in the cafeteria Wednesday after school.

Sports Announcements:

This week's games are on Tuesday at Clayton and Thursday HOME vs Riverwood.

The girls team defeated the Clayton girls by a score of 28-9 and completely dominated from the opening tip-off. The win improves the girls record to 6-2 on the season. THe Lady Rams were led in scoring by Kaylin McKoy who finished with a game high 14 points. Nevaeah Cannon scored 7 points in the win. 

The boys team improved their record to a perfect 8-0 on the season by defeating Clayton by a score of 51-35. The boys team was led in scoring by Cameron Goins who finished with 19 pointsand Kaden Morris who finished with 13 points. Kameron Taylor hit a pair of three pointers in the win as well. 

The girls basketball team defeated Riverwood by a score of 40-28 and played one of their best games of the season improving their recrd to 7-2 on the year. The Lady Rams were led in scoring by Kaylin McKoy who finished with a game high 16 points. Sara Hamman scored 8 points and Nevaeh Cannon chipped in 6 points in the win.

The boys team dominated Riverwood and won by a score of 68-45 improving their record to 9-0 on the season. The boys team was led in scoring by Kaden Morris who finished 18 points. Other top scorers for the Rams were Nathan Jackson with 13 points & Cameron Goins with 11 points.
