FFA Livestock Judging Team successful at state event
CHS FFA Livestock Judging team traveled to Raleigh to compete in what is historically the largest and most competitive career development event held by the North Carolina FFA Association. Teams are asked to judge classes of cattle, swine, sheep, and goats, present oral reasons on two of their classes that they judge, as well as perform on a general knowledge exam, and participate in a keep/cull group activity. It is a long contest and makes for quite the long day!
In the senior division of the event there were approximately 90 teams competing and our CHS senior team placed 8th overall in their division. Senior participants were Dana Broadus, Madalyn Sorenson, Madison Rosenbaum, and Victoria Ward.
In the junior division of the event there were approximately 70 teams competing and our CHS junior team placed 3rd overall in their division. They will be invited to State Convention in June to accept their plaque on stage. Junior participants were Ethan Johnson, Taylor Altman, Raegan Shepherd, and Lila Aldridge.
