Weekly Update - 9/11/22
The week will begin with us using the same schedule as last week as Monday is the last day of the 10-day opening of school schedule. On Tuesday, we will follow our No Comet Time schedule where each block will be extended. In order for us to begin our COMET Time schedule, we need all students to claim their account and to login into the system. The trial period for Monday will run from 7:00 PM tonight until 9:00 AM tomorrow morning. We need all students to login so that we can address anyone that has difficulty with the system. We anticipate starting COMET Time as soon as possible, but we must have our students utilizing the website each day to sign in. We will make an announcement when the COMET Time schedule begins.
School pictures for all juniors, sophomores, and freshmen will be taken on Friday, September 16th. Information for ordering pictures was sent to student emails. There will be a schedule throughout Friday for students to report to the Adams Gym lobby for their pictures. Each student should have a picture made to be included in the CHS yearbook.
This is a reminder that all students are required to have their student ID each day. If a student needs an ID made, we will be making IDs throughout the week. If a student has been issued an ID and now needs a replacement, a $10 fee is required. All students will be issued a lanyard and clear plastic holder for their ID to be displayed.
This week we will be holding elections for class officers and SGA leadership - information will be sent to student emails. We will also be holding votes for the Homecoming Court this upcoming week as well.
Speaking of Homecoming, we need participants to sign up for the annual Powderpuff game. The cost of participating is $10 and includes a Powderpuff t-shirt. This is a big CHS tradition and the games will be held after the Homecoming parade on September 27th. We need female students to play in the games and male students to participate as the spirit leaders for each class. The signups will be available on Wednesday in the cafeteria during all lunches -- I encourage you all to take part in the fun and festivities.
A reminder that students parking on campus must have purchased a parking pass. The parking lot is being monitored and vehicles found without a valid parking pass will be ticketed and could be towed at the owner’s expense. If a student needs a replacement pass, please see Mr. Wood.
Finally, we continue to remind students of our expectations for their behavior. We appreciate all parents and students being cognizant of the JCPS Code of Conduct. Parents, also please note that administrators and staff members main focuses during the school day is to ensure quality classroom instruction and student safety across the operations of the school. This means that if you need to speak with a staff member regarding a matter, you need to email, leave a message, or set an appointment in the absence of a bonafide student emergency. We may not have staff members available to meet with parents without prior notice for non-emergency issues.
