Final Weekly Update for the 2021-2022 year
This is Bennett Jones, principal of Clayton High School with the final CHS Weekly Update for the 2021-2022 school year.
First, as a reminder, tomorrow is the Memorial Day Holiday so school will be closed. This week we will finish our exam schedule. On Tuesday, students who need to complete their EOC in Math 3, Math 1, English 2, or Biology will report to the 600 building at 7:15 for their exam. Any other students who need to complete a makeup exam will report to the cafeteria at 7:15 on Tuesday. Once students have completed their testing session, they may be dismissed from school. Wednesday and Thursday are makeup testing sessions for any students who may still have missing exams.
Most students have completed their exams and course work for this year. As such, they do not have to report for testing and their days are automatically waived. Any students who report to campus without a test to take will be placed in a supervision area.
All students need to ensure that they have returned their Chromebook, including the charger, to their teacher or media center. Student accounts will be charged for lost or damaged devices and equipment so it is important for students to turn in all items. All students also need to ensure they have returned any books borrowed from the media center to avoid fines or fees.
Information regarding summer school is available on the CHS Summer Learning Website and in student emails. Also, students in EOC classes should receive information regarding remediation and retesting options on June 6th, 7th, and 8th if they did not meet proficiency standards on the first attempt.
Senior parents, please be advised that you will get a separate communication regarding senior events and announcements.
As we close out this school year, I want to thank our students and parents for their hard work and support during this challenging year. Our Comets have continued to rise up and overcome obstacles to learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for being Comets ALL IN, have a good night, a great week, a fantastic summer break…we look forward to seeing all of our Comets back in Comet Country in August!
