Weekly Update for May 23rd - 27th

This week features the end of the regular semester and the beginning of our exam schedule. Monday will be the last day of the regular bell schedule. Tuesday and Wednesday will have a modified regular schedule for 10th - 12th grade students. Ninth grade students will begin their exams on Tuesday with Biology EOC and on Wednesday with their Math EOC. All students will utilize the exam schedule on Thursday and Friday.

It is important for all students to do their very best on their exams. Exams count 20% of their overall course grade. It is important that students report on time and are prepared for each testing session. This especially includes bringing their checked out Chromebook fully-charged each day. Students will turn in their device on the day of their last test. Student accounts will be charged for lost or damaged devices and equipment so it is important for students to turn in all items.

As a reminder, once a student completes the final exam and all course work for a class, attendance ends and any absences thereafter are waived. This means that most students will be finished with all of their exams by the end of this week.

Remember that the attendance waiver form for any student who has missed more than 4 class periods in a course this quarter or more than 8 total absences in a class this semester should be completed.. The deadline for requesting an attendance waiver is Tuesday, May 24th at 11:59 PM.

Information regarding summer school is available on the CHS Summer Learning Website and in student emails. Also, students in EOC classes will receive information regarding remediation and retesting options on June 6th, 7th, and 8th should they not meet proficiency standards on the first attempt.

Senior parents, please be advised that you will get a separate communication regarding senior events and announcements. Also this week, freshmen students and parents will get an additional announcement.

2021-2022 yearbooks have arrived! Seniors may pick up their book from the Adams Gym Lobby during 3rd block tomorrow. Underclassmen that ordered books will be able to pick their book up tomorrow during their lunch period. Books may also be picked up during lunch on Tuesday. A limited number of books will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on Tuesday for $75. Exact change cash or a check made out to CHS is required for onsite purchases.

Finally, it is important that we have a safe and orderly environment this week to accommodate reviews and testing…disruptions to the learning environment will not be tolerated.
