Weekly Update for May 9nd - 13th

The 2022 yearbooks will arrive later this month, and the deadline to order online has now been extended through Friday, May 13th.  To order online, go to, and use school code 16558.  After May 13th, all purchases must be made through Mr. Peake, or through the front office, either with exact cash or a check to CHS. Books are $75, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, the yearbook staff is offering a separate 8-page insert that will cover prom, graduation, and other junior and senior-related activities from the spring. This insert will be $10, and will come later in the summer. All special insert orders must be made through Mr. Peake, and must be paid in exact cash or a check to CHS.

The AP Exam Schedule continues this week. Teachers of AP courses have communicated with their students regarding the logistics and processes around the AP exams each day. If a student is in need of transportation to the testing site, they need to communicate with their teacher. Students may report directly to the Clayton Civitan to test and are dismissed for the day when they are through with testing.

The spring 2022 exam schedule will begin on May 24th for 9th grade students and May 26th for all grades. Each student should review this information and plan accordingly.

The departmental awards ceremony will be held on Friday, May 13th at 8:30 AM in the Adams Gym. Students who will be recognized will receive an invitation to the event and their parents are invited to attend Friday morning as well.

Evening Academy ends this week. It will run Monday through Thursday from 2:30 - 5:30 and the last day of regular Evening Academy is Thursday, May 12th. Students must sign up beforehand to attend and can sign up a week in advance. Information can be found in student emails, on our website, and on flyers posted throughout the school. As a reminder, students must be working while in Evening Academy - those who are not actively working or are a disruption to the environment will be dismissed and will face possible school disciplinary measures.

Senior parents, please be advised that you will get a separate communication each week regarding senior events and announcements. Seniors and parents should check their email regularly for information for the remainder of the school year.

Finally, there are two school discipline situations which I need to address with all students. First, I have been made aware of another inappropriate Instagram account. As addressed earlier this year, accounts that are made to bully and harass other students will not be tolerated. Those responsible will be held accountable by school officials and possibly law enforcement. Furthermore, remember that if you are following, liking, or sharing information to those pages, you may face school consequences including removal from clubs and teams and school disciplinary actions if appropriate. Parents, I ask for you to converse with your student and to check their social media activity to make sure they are interacting with others appropriately.

Second, we have encountered acts of vandalism on our campus recently. Please be advised that these offenders will face school consequences and will be reported to law enforcement.
