Weekly Update for November 8th - 12th, 2021
First, I hope everyone enjoyed the extra hour of sleep today, make sure your clocks are set correctly so everyone is on time tomorrow. For those in the carpool, please do not drop off anywhere other than in the designated areas. In the front driveway, that is between the 2 awnings. Also regarding transportation, we are being notified each day about a shortage of bus drivers which is either delaying pickup in the morning or dropping off in the afternoon. For example, tomorrow, we expect the bus route for 702 to be run by bus 747 roughly 45 minutes behind the normal schedule. We do the best we can to try to notify students, but drivers becoming unavailable may result in the delay of buses over the coming days...please have alternate transportation plans in place if needed.
Remember that this week the campus will be closed on Thursday for the Veterans Day holiday and Friday for the first JCPS Wellness Day. Monday through Wednesday we will utilize our normal schedule. Evening Academy will only run on Monday and Tuesday this week and students must sign up beforehand in order to attend. Information is on the Evening Academy website. Students are reminded that they must remain with their teacher or coach after school dismisses. Students are not allowed to be in unauthorized locations of campus and should remain supervised until they leave campus.
Next, as part of JCPS Covid protocols, students who are deemed as a close contact to a Covid positive person may now choose to take part in a “Test to Stay” study. This is optional for those who are identified as a close contact to continue to come to school versus being quarantined. As a reminder, any student who is symptomatic or tests positive for Covid should stay home until the date outlined by the Health Department and symptoms have cleared.
Finally, our exam schedule is posted on the CHS website. We are down to 18 school days remaining until exams begin and we want each of our students to take advantage of their classroom learning activities. This also means that we will not tolerate disruptive behavior that interferes with a positive learning environment for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and for being Comets ALL In...have a good night and a great 3-day week.
