Final message for 2020-2021 School Year
Good evening, this is Bennett Jones, Principal of Clayton High School with a final message for the 2020-2021 school year.
First, I hope that you all have enjoyed this Memorial Day holiday and weekend. I hope everyone was able to take some time to honor and remember those who served and gave all for our country while celebrating with family and friends.
Next, thank you to everyone who came in to take their exams last week and worked hard to finish off the semester on a strong note. Grades will be posted by Wednesday and report cards will be available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal on Thursday. Printed copies are available upon written request.
Students that were issued Chromebooks and/or Hotspots should return them this week if they have not been returned already. A failure to turn them in will result in a fine being placed on your account and a withholding of your transcript if you are not enrolled back at CHS in the fall.
Summer school begins on June 7th. Information is posted on our website or you can contact the office if you have questions.
Also, please know that students’ school email will be active this summer. Make plans to check it routinely just to stay informed with important announcements over the summer and before the start of next school year. Also, be reminded that those school accounts are monitored by cybersecurity and should only be utilized for school functions and communication.
Yearbooks are set to be printed and delivered this summer. If you would like to purchase a book, information is still posted online. We will make social media posts and website announcements when the yearbooks arrive and are available for pickup for those who have purchased them.
I would like to take a moment to inform all of our returning students that we will have different daily schedule next school year. A more structured schedule will be posted for 9th and 10th grade students and a more flexible schedule will be available for 11th and 12th grade students next year. Information regarding the schedule will be sent out over the summer.
Finally, I want to thank you all for your resilience and hard work during this most challenging year. We are already preparing for a fantastic 2021-2022 school year and look forward to seeing you all in the fall. I hope that you have a safe and enjoyable summer break and look forward to seeing you all back in Comet Country in August.
Thank you, have a good night and a fantastic summer!
