CHS Weekly Update - 5/2/21

Weekly update for the upcoming week, May 3rd - 7th, 2021

First, I want to share that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so thankful for all of the hard work our teachers do on a daily basis, and especially, what they have done during this most challenging year. I encourage students and parents to thank their teachers for everything they do to help our students!

Next, we would like to announce that due to a conflict with events we have moved the Junior Parent meeting to next Monday, May 10th at 6:30 in the Adams Gym. More details will be sent next week.

Transportation services has posted a link for any student that is virtual and will need transportation during the exam week (May 24th - 28th). Please complete the link on our website if your student needs transportation during exams.

This week begins AP testing for many of our students. We encourage all students taking AP exams to arrive on time to their testing site and to do their very best on this college-board exam.

The CHS prom will be held on Friday, May 7th at CHS. As such, the CHS campus will be closed to all outside visitors and non-attendees of the prom at 2:30 on Friday. Prom attendees should follow all directions and protocols for their arrival and attendance on Friday.

Next, I want to make sure everyone is aware of a couple of important dates this month. The CHS Celebration parade will be held on Thursday, May 20th...details about the event will be upcoming. Everyone that was scheduled to be in the original parade are invited to again be a part of the parade on May 20th. NC state exams in EOC and CTE courses will take place the week of May 24th - 27th - a detailed exam schedule will be released next week. Finally, the last day of school and graduation will be held on Friday, May 28th. Seniors will receive ticket information in a separate notice this week.

Finally, I want to encourage all of our students to finish the school year in strong fashion. There are only 3 weeks remaining before exams, so everyone needs to work hard and complete all of their assignments. Summer school information will be shared next week for those that are interested or need additional assistance after the regular school year ends.

Thank you as always for your continued support and for being Comets ALL IN, have a good evening and a great week!
