Update March 29th-April 2nd, 2021

This is Bennett Jones, principal of Clayton High School with the weekly update for the upcoming week, March 29th - April 2nd, 2021.

First, please be reminded that this week, the remote learning day will be on Thursday, April 1st. Cohort A will report as normal on Monday and Tuesday; Cohort B will be on Wednesday only this week. Friday is a holiday and Spring Break will begin on Friday and run through Sunday, April 11th.

Next, this notice is for senior parents that we will have a brief senior parent meeting tomorrow night, Monday, at 7:00 PM. This will be to share further details regarding prom, senior celebrations, and graduation. Please have one person attend the Zoom meeting for each senior. The link will be sent via email to seniors and senior parents.

This week, we are happy to celebrate our COMETS ALL IN Week. Tomorrow will be Jersey Day for students on campus and online. Tuesday and Wednesday will be Comets Gear days where students are encouraged to wear their Comets gear. We will be having drawings for prizes for those that participate on Tuesday and Wednesday to win some different CHS items. Also, we are pleased to remind you that on Wednesday at 6:00 PM, we will have the CHS Homecoming/ALL IN parade through downtown Clayton. Different groups will be represented in the parade and we invite everyone to come out and celebrate the Comets. The parade route can be found on the CHS and Town of Clayton social media pages.

Finally, this is a reminder about the district’s move to Plan A. Students moving to Plan A of four days a week of instruction are asked to confirm this on the form found at bit.ly/cometsplanchange (must be all lower case letters) - thank you to those who have already completed the form.

Remember this form can also be used for any students that wish to move from in-person to completely virtual due to the shift to Plan A. I will share details in my message on April 11th regarding the processes for Plan A procedures, but please be reminded that our bell schedule will not change and Wednesdays will continue to be remote days.

Thank you as always for your continued support and for being Comets ALL IN, have a good evening, a great week, and a very Happy Spring Break!
