- Clayton High
Update: December 6, 2020
Good evening Clayton High School students and parents, this is Bennett Jones, principal of Clayton High School with information regarding this upcoming week, December 7th - 11th.
This is the last week for cohorts reporting to campus prior to exams. The CHS final exam schedule for this semester can be found on the CHS website. As a reminder, only regular education students taking EOC or CTE exams will report to campus during exams. If a student is unable to attend for exams, we will reschedule an alternative date and time for the in-person exam.
Students are reminded to please follow all guidelines for the health and safety of everyone. As a reminder, if any student is deemed a close contact of a positive or symptomatic person, is symptomatic themselves, or has tested positive, this information should be reported to the school so that we can advise of a return date. I want to thank so many of you who have been doing this which has allowed us to continue to have school each day as safely as possible.
Next, this week we are having a holiday spirit week to help everyone get excited about the end of the semester and the holiday season. We encourage all of our students, those on campus and virtual, to take part in the festivities and fun! However, please remember to meet the school dress expectations for those that are coming to campus. The themes for each day have been emailed to students and are available on our website and social media pages.
We will be advertising a drop/add period for students this week for Spring 2021 courses. Students should check their emails daily and follow the processes sent to request to drop or add a class for next semester. Students should also check their email to claim their CometTime accounts. This information has been shared by teachers and all students will need to claim their accounts for the spring semester.
Finally, all students should complete all missing assignments this week. Each student should follow the information from each of their teachers regarding final exams and course completion. Our school intervention teams will be contacting students and their parents if they are in danger of not earning credit for a course due to not completing assignments satisfactorily. I encourage all students to communicate with teachers and to work diligently these last two weeks to finish the semester successfully.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to another great week in Comet Country and I hope you all have a good evening.
