  • Mini-Camp for Rising 6th Graders!

    Smithfield Middle School will host a Mini-Camp for Rising 6th Graders on Thursday, August 5 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. The mini-camp will introduce our new 6th graders to middle school life. Participants will experience a school tour and will learn about school expectations, combination locks, dress code, academic success, middle school clubs and activities, and social emotional learning. A light snack and drink will be provided. Call the front office at 919-934-4696 to register your child.

    On March 25, 2021, the Smithfield Middle School, M.L. Wilson Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society welcomed seventeen new eighth grade and twenty five new seventh grade inductees in a virtual induction ceremony. This brings its total membership to ninety nine students.

  • Congratulations Ms. Harper-Middle School Teacher of the Year

    Ms. Beverly Barnes Harper is the Veterans of Foreign War 2021 Middle School Teacher of the Year for Post 5886 in Smithfield, NC. Ms. Harper served in a variety of fields including the military, aircraft maintenance, and volunteer firefighting, and she takes pride in sharing her unique experiences with her students in her math and science classrooms.
