  • FFA Competes in the North Carolina State FFA Food Science Career Development Event

    Yesterday two students from the Riverwood Middle FFA competed in the North Carolina State FFA Food Science Career Development Event. Those students were Mason Rosenbaum and Dakota Westmoreland. This team was the only middle school to compete and will receive recognition as the top-scoring Middle School in the state. They finished 9th overall against high school teams. Placed 3rd in our Region and 2nd in our Federation. Congratulations to both students on all their hard work!!! Also a BIG thank you to Mr. Schappert for serving as a proctor for the event!!!

  • Huge Thank You to Cargill Incorporated!

    What a wonderful way to end a Monday! This afternoon, we were greeted by Mr. House as he represented Cargill Incorporated with a donation to our school in the amount of $4,964. These funds will help us purchase additional smart panels for our classrooms. Thank you Mr. House for stopping by today and for Cargill's generous donation!

  • FFA Horse Evaluation Junior Career Development Event

    Our Horse Evaluation team earned a 3rd place finish in the State for FFA Horse Evaluation Junior Career Development Event on Thursday afternoon [March 25th]. This team was also the top-scoring middle school in the state!!! Team Members were Aletha Rich, Carlie Pope, Anna Adair, and Mason Rosenbaum. Carlie Pope had a 6th place overall individual score in the state competition. Congratulations to these individuals and all their hard work!!!

  • Battle of the Books

    Our team has worked hard to prepare for the Battle of the Books County Competition on Friday, March 19th and did a great job! They read a variety of books from the state list and thoroughly enjoyed being together as a team today! It was a true celebration of reading! Our sister school, Swift Creek Middle, won the competition, with Smithfield Middle coming in second, and Cleveland Middle in third place.
