What does it mean to be a Title I School? 

• In Johnston County, any school that has 55% or more F/R 

• Title I is a federally funded program. Funds have to be used to enhance the student's educational experiences. 

• This money is in addition to the funding provided to all schools by the state of North Carolina.

How are we spending our Title I money?

• This year our school is funding additional staff    positions with our Title I funds

• We are also planning on using the additional money for school supplies

• Staff Development

• Parent Involvement

How can parents be involved?

• Attend parent/teacher conferences

• Join Social Media connected to West Smithfield Elementary

• Attend parent nights, school sponsored activities, and community events

• Join school organizations and/or the School Advisory Council
