CHROMEBOOK USE

Your student(s) will have access to an instructional device for their school use. Additionally, students are granted the privilege of access to the Internet and network resources. Each student and parent is asked to read the Student/Parent Technology Use and Digital Citizenship Agreement and sign the agreement page indicating their understanding of the guidelines and procedures for digital citizenship and the use of the electronic devices and network resources.

Students will be assigned a Chromebook in each classroom. A Chromebook cart will be available in every room, and students are responsible for reporting any damage to their teacher immediately. Students are expected to be responsible by following all technology use guidelines, listening to teacher instructions, and using the established classroom procedures for getting and putting away Chromebooks. Parents and guardians are financially responsible for school-issued devices that are lost or damaged.

Students enrolled in online college courses or AP courses may bring a personal laptop or chromebook. In order to gain access to the school wifi, the student must bring their personal device to the library for it to be registered. Email matttrue@johnston.k12.nc.us with questions regarding the use of personal devices on campus for AP and Online coursework. West Johnston High School/JCPS is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal devices.
