Hi, I am Karen Lee, West Clayton's School Library Media Coordinator (SLMC).

I live in Clayton with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. My husband is my high school sweetheart and we've been together since 2007. He has a Bachelor's degree from NC State in Civil Engineering, but after nearly losing his life in 2013 from a serious work accident, he was led to public service in law enforcement.

I started my career at West Clayton in 2012 as a 5th grade teacher and have since taught 3rd and 4th grade. I am AIG and National Board certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist. In 2021, I moved into the Media Center, and in 2023 I completed my Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences from ECU. My passion is to inspire students to be problem-solvers and to grow their character and academics through reading.

 I work in the library to ensure all students and staff have access to media, technology, and library resources to enrich their learning experiences. I am so grateful and excited to serve the school in this role, and I love seeing our students from all grade levels each and every day.
