What is StudentAccess?
StudentAccess is a partnership between Johnston County Public Schools and the Public Library of Johnston County to provide students with books and other resources available through the public library . Johnston County Public School students are able to use their Student ID number as a library card to:
- Access electronic resources and library databases
- Borrow up to 10 print books or audiobooks from the public libraries located in Benson, Four Oaks, Kenly, Princeton, Selma, or Smithfield
use library computers.
How do I log in?
Students:
Login: Student ID number
PIN or password: the last 4 digits of your student ID number.
Teachers:
Login: PowerSchool ID number
PIN or password: the last 4 digits of your PowerSchool ID number.
ATTENTION PARENTS! If you do not want your child to participate, then please complete this parent opt-out form and return it to your student's school.

About Your Media Specialist:
Hello!My name is Anna Smith. I will be the new librarian this year. Some of you may already know me from my time in STEAM! I am committed to making this a great school year for all of the Bulldogs who visit the Media Center! I am not only the librarian but also the Broadcast Director, Webmaster, and Battle of The Books Coach.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Johnston County. I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Middle Grades Education with an added licensure in Elementary Education.I am currently working on my Master’s in Library Science at East Carolina University. I am very excited about continuing my journey at Princeton Elementary School! I am eager to continue getting to know each and every student in our school! In the library, we focus on many skills such as research skills, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking I hope to make the library an exciting and memorable place for all students to visit. Everyone has unique talents and strengths that will be appreciated and utilized in our library.
Important Dates/Items to Remember:
- Battle of the Books Practices will start the second week of September on September 14, 2022 and take place on Wednesdays from 4:00-4:45.
Battle of the Books Tentative Calendar 2022-2023
- Reader of the Month recognitions will be announced at the end of every month starting at the end of September.
- Please check out or Bulldog Reads (A free book bin outside the front of the school)
Please encourage your students to read every night! Research shows that reading just 20 minutes each night can help your child drastically improve not only reading skills about also strengthen vocabulary! My job as the librarian is to help your student find a passion for reading and find a book that they love!
