Student Google Accounts
Students have a Google account with the domain @jcsnc.org. We use Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Google Drive.
Google Classroom is used for our virtual learning. Student who are in the Virtual Learning Program and Face-to-Face virtual days will need to use Google Classroom.

Public Library Partnership
The Johnston County Public Library allows students to use their Polenta ID to check out books. Here is a video to explain how to borrow books from the public library using your child's school account.
Lexia
Lexia Core5 Reading
Students use Lexia for review and practice for reading.
1. To get to Lexia this year, you must have your child login to their classlink first.
2. After they log in , they will see an icon for Lexia. Click on the Lexia icon to use the program.
(Initial login requires classroom teacher's name, student ID for username, and birthdate mmddyy for password.)

Using your Voice to Dictate Text Anywhere
If your child is very young or has special needs that requires them to speak their answers to the questions provided by the teacher, you can add this setting on your chromebook.
If you want to dictate text in Google docs, web forms and elsewhere, turn on the ‘Enable dictation’ feature. To do so:
To enable ‘Enable dictation’ open the ‘Accessibility Settings’ on your Chromebook by clicking or tapping once on the status area in the bottom right corner of your screen. Then select Settings > Advanced (at the very bottom of the page) > Manage Accessibility Features. (See the article Open Accessibility Preferences on this website for more information.)
In the Accessibility settings window, scroll down to the ‘Keyboard and text input’ section.
Click or tap the on/off toggle switch for ‘Enable dictation (speak to type)
