Parent Advisory Council

The North Johnston High School Parent Advisory Council is comprised of parents from the various attendance boundaries represented in our school district. Community and parent understanding and support are vital to the success of North Johnston High School.  Parents are selected and serve staggered three-year terms and are voted on by the Johnston County Public Schools Board of Education. Persons interested in serving on the council may email their interest to the Advisory Board Chairperson or the School Principal.

The duties and responsibilities of the Parent Advisory Council are to:

  1. Assist the Board of Education in promoting good schools on a countywide basis

  2. Cooperate in the execution of county, state and federal school programs and regulations

  3. Advise in the preparation of local school budgets

  4. Advise on the care, use and protection of local school property

  5. Advise in all other matters pertaining to the local school or schools

  6. Serve as advisory council to the principal

The NJHS Advisory Council meets at least four times per year in the school's Media Center at 6:00 pm. Meeting dates for the 25-26 school year are as follows:

September 29, 2025, November 24, 2026, February 23, 2026, April 27, 2026
May 29, 2026 - 5:00 pm - Graduation in gym
