PTAs, PTOs, and Booster Clubs

PTAs, PTOs, and Booster Clubs are vital support groups for Johnston County Public Schools. These organizations involve parents that support a particular club or school. They are led by parents not by Johnston County Public School employees. These organizations are not considered a part of the school system and funds for the organization are not handled by the individual schools.

Because the organizations and their activities reflect upon the school system, guidelines are provided stating conditions in order to operate on behalf of the schools. These guidelines are addressed in Board Policy 5010 Parent Organizations and Board Policy 5020 Collections and Solicitations. More information is available in the PTA, PTO, and Booster Club Handbook

Student & Athletic Insurance

Athletic Insurance

Johnston County Schools has an all-athletic plan for athletic insurance. Athletes in grades 6-12 are covered under this plan. The coverage is secondary, not primary. Coverage is also very limited. If you do not have primary insurance coverage, then the all-athletic plan becomes primary coverage, but only to the limits in the plan.
