Dr. Tobias Hocutt

Assistant Principal

With a strong passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, I am honored and excited to serve as the Assistant Principal at Four Oaks Middle School. As a Johnston County native from West Smithfield, I have a solid educational background. I graduated from Smithfield-Selma Senior High and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Augustine University. Furthermore, I completed my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure at East Carolina University and earned a Master's degree in School Administration from Barton College. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate in the Ed.D program at Western Carolina University, with plans to finish in Summer 2023.

With a decade-long career in education, I have dedicated six years to classroom teaching at Archer Lodge Middle School. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by both students and teachers. It has also shaped my approach to educational leadership, which emphasizes student-centered strategies and a strong commitment to academic excellence.

For the past three years, I have been at Cleveland High School, where I successfully transitioned into an administrative role. This opportunity has given me valuable insights into school operations, curriculum development, and staff management. Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and the wider community, I have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and helped create a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.

My educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student deserves a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes both academic and personal growth.

As the Assistant Principal of Four Oaks Middle School, I am committed to working closely with the principal, staff, students, and parents to ensure the school continues to provide a high-quality education. I am excited to contribute to the school's mission of empowering students to reach their full potential and preparing them for success in an ever-changing world.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy engaging in community service initiatives, traveling, and savoring good food. I am thrilled to be a part of the Four Oaks Middle School community and eagerly look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of our stakeholders.
