All students and adults who enter the building walk through a weapons detector. These machines signal to a staff member if there are any questionable items on the person. Students may be asked to empty book bags or reenter the system to identify the alert.
Adults who enter the front entrance will be asked to walk through the system, identify their purpose, and show ID if they are unknown to the staff member. To expedite the process, we ask that you leave unnecessary bags in the car.
Emergency Procedures are conducted regularly to ensure that students and staff are prepared for any emergency situations which may arise:
Fire Drills: Conducted monthly
Tornado Drills: Conducted yearly
Earthquake Drill: Conducted yearly
LockDown Drills: Conducted quarterly
Accident Reports: Staff will contact parents any time a child has an accident or is injured. The accident report will be sent home that day. Parents may choose to come to school and pick the child up if needed. Medical emergency (911) will be called if needed.
We do limit the amount that students are out of class by themselves; we encourage them to participate in group bathroom breaks to limit alone time in the building. We institute a digital pass system when they do leave class without an adult.
