Hello! My name is Melissa Moore Hubbard. I am from Clayton and I graduated from Clayton High School in 1993. After graduation, I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I obtained my BA in Elementary Education in 1997. After teaching for a few years I decided to return to school at East Carolina University where I received my Masters in Elementary Education in 2002. Not long after that I received my AIG endorsement. In 2006 I became a National Board Certified Teacher. In January of 2010, I returned to Campbell University to work on an add-on in School Administration. I began my teaching career in 1997 at Corinth-Holders. I am so thrilled to be starting my 3rd year at Clayton High! Go Comets!
My husband is Kevin Hubbard from Kenly and a North Johnston graduate. We have two beautiful children. Our son Ty is 21 years old and and graduated in 2022 Clayton High School and is a Firefighter for the Town of Clayton and our daughter Lacyn is 18 years old and graduated in 2025 from Clayton High and attends NC State.
My greatest hobby is spending time with my family and friends. My own children are my greatest joy, but helping children to succeed is my passion. I love what I do and it thrills me to see sparks in the eyes of students when they have just learned something amazing. I truly believe that if we work together to meet the needs of our kids and keep them first, then many, and I mean many, "GREAT" things are possible. I look forward to a wonderful year as we continue to Go for GREAT because we are "A Different Kind Of BLUE!" (Don't let anyone say different!)
