Bachelors Degree in Special Education K-12 from East Carolina University
Hello! My name is Bridgette Winstead and this is my first year at Smithfield Selma High School. While this is my first year here at SSS this is my 11th year of teaching. I went to Johnston County Public Schools (elementary school: Glendale Kenly, middle school: North Johnston Middle School, and high school: North Johnston High School). After graduating high school, I went to pursue a teaching degree at East Carolina University. Once graduating college, I came back to the county that stirred the love of education within me and have worked in the county ever since! I am married to my husband, Mark and we have two wonderful boys: Landyn (7 years old) and Elijah (2 soon to be 3 years old). We also have a beagle mix named, Daisy. My husband and I are ordained ministers and serve at our church, as well as, help with other ministeries. I love people and I want nothing more than to make your time at SSS enjoyable and memorable. If I can do anything please feel free to call at 919-934-5191 ext: 5240 or email me at email@example.com
Every JCPS parent must fill out the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students. The Second Semester Choice form is to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12. If a child is going to participate in face-to-face instruction for the second semester, the parent will be asked to fill out transportation information for the student in the form. A form for each student should be completed by Nov. 30.
Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
