Welcome to First Grade!
My name is Sayonna Adams and I will be your child's teacher this year. I am excited to lead your child on their education journey this year. My reason for becoming a teacher is cliche but it's my truth; I love igniting the spark for a love of learning and watching students grow each year. I will do everything in my power to help your child during their time with me.
This is my second year teaching, both years at Polenta. I graduated from NC State (GO PACK!) with my Bachelor's of Science- Major in Elementary Education with a concentration in STEM.
A little bit about me: I am a mom. I have two handsome boys, Benjamin and Daniel, a Lab/Pit named Demy, and a cat named Alex. I have been married for 7 years to my amazing husband, James. I am a lover of coffee, chocolate, animals (especially wolves and dolphins), and cool rocks. In my scarce down time I love to break out my camera and snap some photos.

Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
