It was so nice to meet you at our Orientation!
I look forward to working with you and your child throughout this school year.
Welcome to Mrs. Mourer’s Literacy Lounge
I am excited to be your child’s Literacy teacher for 5th Grade. I want you to know that my expectations are high, but your child can totally meet them! I am confident that as we grow together you will see an impressive difference in your child this year. My goal is to give them a wonderful 5th grade experience and prepare them for a seamless transition to middle school.
Feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.

We are excited to have a NEW ELA program to introduce to your child this year. However, due to budget cuts, our classrooms are not supplied with current textbooks in all our core subject areas that support our curriculum. As a result, our learning is HIGHLY interactive. Students will be creating interactive notebooks. This is a hands on task that children thoroughly enjoy. It teaches notebooking skills that they can use in middle school. These notebooks will contain the material that will be studied and assessed. This requires cutting and pasting daily in multiple subjects. We will easily use two-three glue sticks a month and several notebooks per subject area. Thank you for taking advantage of the school days sales to help prepare your child for the upcoming school year.
Don't forget to save your Box Tops. Send them in with your child. We will need all the support we can get this year. We won TWO ice cream parties last year for having the most turned in per quarter. Thank you in advance for your help.

Mrs. Wanda Mourer
Welcome to my website. I am Wanda Mourer and I have been working at Pine Level Elementary for more than 20 years. I enjoy what I do and love preparing the next generation of students for middle school. I feel it is my job to not only prepare them for the rigors of academics, but also for the demands of growing up in middle school. I love to educate the whole child and it really pays off when I see them graduate from a successful elementary experience.
In my spare time I love to READ! My husband and I enjoy spending time with our children and their families. We love North Carolina and all the wonderful outdoor adventures we can have. We look forward to the next new experience. From the mountains to the beach, we are always excited to learn something new!

We use every minute of EVERY day to help prepare your child for the rigorous demands of 5th grade. Students are held to high standards and are accountable for completing work due to tardiness, leaving early, or absences. Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions concerning make up work.
