Ms. Erica Goodwyn
Hello everyone, my name is Erica Goodwyn and I am the Physical Education and Health teacher here at Wilson’s Mills Elementary. This is my first year teaching PE at Wilson’s Mills. However, I have been a member of the Wilson’s Mills family since 2012 when I served on the PTA. Later, I became a Substitute teacher and eventually I became a Teacher Assistant. I also taught PE for a year at Colerain Elementary in Bertie County and Lifespring Academy in Clayton, NC.
I graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a BS in Physical Education and Health. I really love this job and enjoy being a part of the positive environment here at Wilson’s Mills Elementary. I plan to encourage healthy habits and to teach students that physical activity is important, but most importantly FUN! My goal is for all of my students to be confident and to use their creativity while moving and participating in PE, so that those habits and enjoyment translate outside of school.
During my free time, I enjoy the outdoors with my 3 kids Darius (21), Dakota (14) and Danica (12). I also enjoy watching almost any sport. However, my favorites are basketball and football. I am looking forward to meeting the students and showing them how much fun PE can be!
